week #23 in an experimental year…

One of my rituals for each new year is to choose a word to influence me for the year. My word for 2011 is EXPERIMENT. To support my EXPERIMENTAL focus, I commit to post the results of a new experiment each Sunday of this year.

I love fresh vegetables – except okra.   And yes, I’ve tried it fried, steamed, pickled, etc.

So when a friend brought me her SPECIAL okra this week, I was skeptical, at best.  I tried it though.

I

still

hate

okra.

No offense, Jamie.

What have well-meaning friends life tried to convince you ‘to just try it THIS way?’   (and thanks for remembering this is a G-rated blog :))    How’d that work for ya?

  1. When I was a teen-ager at a friend’s house, they were having pizza for lunch & I said I didn’t like it, although I had never tasted it. She said everybody likes pizza & sure enough it’s one of my favorite foods today:)

  2. Dove…..I don’t like dark meat of any kind and that’s all dove is. And of course my childrens’ father wouldn’t accept that….he always kept trying to get me to eat some. Every now then I would cave….but I don’t like it and only took teensy weensy bites!

  3. Lois, SO glad that pizza thing worked out for ya! 😉

Judi, trying is good ~ even it’s just as a reminder, eh? 🙂

    thanks, ya’ll…
