One of my rituals for each new year is to choose a word to influence me for the year. My word for 2011 is EXPERIMENT. To support my EXPERIMENTAL focus, I commit to post the results of a new experiment each Sunday of this year.
This week I returned to how I spent my Sundays LAST year – when I offered a different version of Stairway to Heaven each week. This time though, I focused on another song that’s always been a go-to-song for me – Let it Be.
The experimental part of this was finding as many different covers of it as I could. Gotta tell ya, some I found weren’t worth sharing. This one by Brooke White is though. Hope you enjoy.

Love Brooke White. Love this song. Way unbelievable Paul is almost 70! My go to song to lift me up “Testify To Love” song by Wynonna Judd. It’s on the Touched By An Angel soundtrack. Find it Lisa! Love you! PS The Long and Winding Road by Paul is good too! Always makes me think about my journey to the door to heaven. But when I need a Lisa fix it’s “So Glad It Was You” by our gal pal Carole King

Strange as it may seem, my go to song is Zippity-Do-Dah from the Song of the South!!! Just knowing I always have a blue bird on my shoulder is a blessing!!!!!
My go-to is another Beatle, George that is, fave–Here Comes the Sun. We redently discovered an incredible version done by Paul Simon with David Crosby and Neil Young (I think it’s Crosby & Young–anyway it was at a tribute to CSN&Y concert). It’s a slower & for lack of a better word, more reflective version than the original–I love it.
