My “word” for 2012 is wOw!
wOw! is one of those fabulous words that fits positive, negative and neutral situations. It’s a word we can use when no other will work. Over this next year of Sundays, I’m going to share some wOw!moments from the previous week. By December 31, 2012, I’ll have shared 2012wOw! moments.
I hope you’ll have spotted (and maybe even shared) close to that, too.
Here’s what made me say wOw! this week:
473. beginning Easter Sunday by helping write the entire New Testament on the sidewalks of Whiteville, NC at “Walk with Jesus”;
474. Easter Sunday at Grace Episcopal and Christ the King Lutheran Church;
475. a beautiful Sunday afternoon with Tom;
476. turtle-counting (14!) with Blossom during our morning walk;
477. holy conversations;
478. a clean carpet;
479. my sweetie Tom making the front page of the News Reporter;
480. Blossom’s return from her Spa Day at Adorable Canines;
481. earning the trust of a new friend;
482. being overwhelmed with gratitude for an AHmazing 54th birthday;
483. that one of my Anne Lamott (one of my all time favorite writers) and I share a birthday;
484. Carole King’s memoir, A Natural Woman ;
485. wondering how many MORE stories about The Titanic we can hear;
486. the dragonfly that settled on Tom’s chest;
487. watching Arwen-the-Cat bat at azalea blooms with her paw;
488. hibachi scallops;
489. being gobsmacked by how debilitating grief can sneak up on me;
490. having to close my windows;
491. catching-up with a dear friend;
492. the satisfaction of Spring cleaning;
493. how great a hot dog tastes when it’s eaten at my favorite 11-year-old’s birthday celebration;
494. country roads;
495. how much more healing naming a disappointment feels than nursing it so it can grow into a resentment;

497. spotting the first ducklings of the season;

500. the DELIGHT of planting treasures from Magnolia Garden Center;

506. hearing the breeze over LKW as I settle in to sleep;
My wOw: Watching five deer come walking out of the woods into an open field! I have seen deer in a field before, but had never experienced watching them walk from the woods into the field until yesterday!!!
