My “word” for 2012 is wOw!           

wOw! is one of those fabulous words that fits positive, negative and neutral situations.  It’s a word we can use when no other will work.   Over this next year of Sundays, I’m going to share some wOw!moments from the previous week.  By December 31, 2012, I’ll have shared 2012 wOw! moments.   

I hope you’ll have spotted (and maybe even shared) close to that, too.

Here’s what made me say wOw! this week:

1134.  visiting a joyful Lutheran worship service lead by Pastor Gene;

1135.  an awesome Ports of Call brunch;

1136.  The Perfect Sunday Afternoon Nap;

1137.  a holy and restFULL sabbath;

1138.  getting great results at my bank physical check-up;

1139.  the life and legacy of Sally Ride;

1140.  that people were surprise that some people got burned when they walked over hot coals;

1141.  how light my wallet is thanks to the Key Ring app;

1142.  the joy of restoring an old and beloved lamp;

1143.  the persistence of MS;

1144.  comforting Blossom during a mega-storm;

1145.  Bloss waking me up with her snoring:

1146.  the healing power of a creative day;

1147.  watching yet another evening summer storm move across LKW;

1148.  receiving a package of old family photos and clippings from a distant and dear cousin;

1149.  spending hours looking through photos of my great grandfather and mother’s life together;

1150.  seeing some of my dad’s, sister’s and my physical features in some of those photos;

1151.  letters my grandfather sent while he was overseas in WWI;

1152.  original newspaper clippings about my father being shot-down and reported missing in WWII (he was a POW in Germany for almost two years);

1153.  original newspaper clipping about my parents’ wedding;

1154.  an image of Mari at 2 years old;

1155.  the fun of gearing-up for for Take the Lake;

1156.  sacred time with a dear friend, swapping lessons and stories;

1157.  Julie VonDerVellen’s exhibit at the Cameron Art Museum;

1158.  hearing from a Cheap Therapy customer and remembering why I love marking art;

1159.  former Cheap Therapist Celia Barbieri getting a two page spread for her Button Flowers in Our State magazine;

1160.  using Mari’s recipe for Blue Cheese Dressing;

1161.  broiled figs with goat cheese (THANKS, Luanne!);

1162. the late night moon;

1163.  82 degrees at 8:30am;

1164.  giving myself permission to just go with the flow in the quiet mood I’m feeling;

1165.  having a friend who ‘gets’ that, doesn’t take it personally and doesn’t try to coax me out of it;

1166. a phenomenal salad, chicken wings and warm bread;

1167.  my new living room rug arriving ten days earlier than expected;

1168.  being asked to share my story;  not understanding why;  doing it anyway;  and then understanding why;

1169.  how Blossom lets me know she’s finished playing as well as she lets me know she’s ready to play;

1170. Thai basil scallop cakes with summer squash casserole and beet/carrot salad;

1171.  feeling sooooo close to my sis as I watched the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics;

1172.  summer thunder storms (thanks to Doug Sasser for this week’s image!);

1173.  a fabulous ‘gal pal Saturday morning‘ with the magnificent Marjorie Council;

1174.  how wonderfully fragrant my home is as my newly prepped Tuscan Herb Salt dries;

1175.  beef filet with eggplant/tomatoes/basil and a sweet potato;

1176.  this great video of a 100 year-old-woman on Leno;
