My word for 2018 is focus, which requires paying attention to the moment – the now. So, this year, I’ll be taking note of experiences I may have missed, without focus. Many may seem to be BGO’s (blinding glimpses of the obvious), but hey, I might have missed them.
Here’s this week of NOWS:
ribs and Waldorf salad, shared with my right person;
the delicious ritual of pour-over coffee;
just.watching.Bloss.sleep;
sharing Lenten hopes with GodFriends;
allowing whacko.bank.policies.and.very.poor.customer.service to ruin only a few minutes, rather than a whole day;
ashes;
celebrating great news with beloveds;
giving expectations less power over my emotions and reactions;
seeing geese flying in their V;
swapping memories, sharing present moments, and anticipating future joys with a long.time.pal;
The Moment sugar and butter become caramel;
witnessing an egret gracefully land on.the.top of a very tall tree;
witnessing an egret gracefully land on.the.top of a very tall tree;
hanging clothes to dry outside IS as much fun when my dryer is broken, as when it’s not;
sometimes, procrastination is a five syllable word for sloth;
the cohesiveness of a community in a crisis;
amazing coffee;
the joy of sharing in a Thai and Toenails Ritual;
alligator(s) and turtles lining the banks of LKW IN FEBBRUARY;
how Bloss settles into THE ray of Light on the floor;
remembering why I shouldn’t scratch my eye after slicing jalapeno peppers;
Bradford Pair Tree blossoms in mid February, and
a perfectly cooked shrimp.
