My word for 2018 is focus, which requires paying attention to the moment – the now. So, this year, I’ll be taking note of experiences I may have missed, without focus. Many may seem to be BGO’s (blinding glimpses of the obvious), but hey, I might have missed them.
Here’s this week of NOWS:
Tom’s smile, when he met me at the airport;
the first ducklings of the season;
hydrangea-hopefuls;
zinnia sprouts;
all of the hope and prayers surrounding a dear friend’s cancer surgery and healing;
overwhelmingly generous birthday wishes;
all those discounts because i’m now 60;
enjoying gourmet cupcakes with soul sisters;
that practicing yang and yin yoga each day won’t CURE multiple sclerosis, but it sure makes it more livable (for me);
how so.much.honesty can be shared over a cuppa tea (or coffee);
hearing the ocean;
reconnecting with Trinity Center pals;
an electric guitar-playing Bishop;
feeling the life-force of a high-flying 40-foot octopus kite;
the healing power of walking on a beach;
the joy of trusting a leader;
a freshly picked (and eaten) strawberry; and
the tremendous impact of story-listening.
What NOWS did you experience this week?
