My word for 2018 is focus, which requires paying attention to the moment – the now. So, this year, I’ll be taking note of experiences I may have missed, without focus. Many may seem to be BGO’s (blinding glimpses of the obvious), but hey, I might have missed them.
Here’s this week of NOWS:
an exquisitely perfect wildflower in the middle of a pile of pine straw;
the profound comfort of a welcoming kitchen (and its cooks/chefs);
spotting twelve robins on my car;
an amazing key lime cupcake;
the determination of a wind-blown hummingbird;
witnessing a duckling jump into the lake from my pier (with Mom and sibling ducklings cheering from the water);
how the scent released from crushed lavender seeds calms.my.soul;
an (un-named French brand) enameled cast iron pot dropped on foot = broken toe;
how soothing it is to hear Tom’s voice;
the healing power of my Goddaugther’s dance recital;
how great shrimp tastes even better, when I’m eating outside;
how shamefully proud I am for having an empty e.mail INBOX every.single Saturday;
the Great American Read; and
the way 15-year-old Blossom’s legs move, as she’s dreaming.
What NOWS did you experience this week?
