My word for 2018 is focus, which requires paying attention to the moment – the now. So, this year, I’ll be taking note of experiences I may have missed, without focus. Many may seem to be BGO’s (blinding glimpses of the obvious), but hey, I might have missed them.
Here’s this week of NOWS:
realizing the Daddy was only 61 when he died. all.these.years i’d ‘remembered him as 65. bad-at-math as i am, the power of how our human brains/memories can adjust our ‘life narratives’ never ceases to amaze me;
the honor helping Tom celebrate Father’s Day;
that a roasted sweet potato is infinitely better than a microwaved sweet potato;
witnessing an owl dive through my yard;
how a child can claim her own wisdom and power;
finding out that dragonflies bite;
choosing not to complain about The Heat;
blueberry-infused iced tea;
my responding to the young girl at FoodLion, who asked me if I could fly with my stick, “I don’t know. Should I try it?” (ps- she said, “probably not from a high-up place”)
grilled peaches;
fresh lavender (on many levels);
James Corden and Paul McCartney;
witnessing adult children generously choose to share the joy of their father’s life in the midst of their own grief; and
watching a duck manuveur a pine cone to the lake.
What NOWS did you experience or witness this week?
