My word for 2020 is ENOUGH.
It’s such a great word and realization. And it’s so versatile!
- I can use it while standing tall, with clenched fists and lots of exclamation points. “Enough of THAT!!!”
- I can use it when I remember to put Fear in the back seat. So I can get on with Life. “Enough, already.”
- I can use it when no matter how I try, things just don’t turn out as I planned or wanted. So I can allow a glimmer of grace to creep-in and flip my compassion switch ON. “:: deep sigh:: Enough.”
- I can also use it when God/The Universe/and Everything Good presents one of those gobsmacking moments of awe and love. “THIS is enough.”
Over these past weeks, I’ve had good days, even days, and don’t-even-think-I’m-going-to-put-up-with-your-s%#t days. My guess is, that will continue, in the weeks to come. And I guess many of you have had something like those days, too.
Earlier this week, I had an even day that was shifting downward. Then I spotted what’s in this image. The Meyer lemon tree some beloveds gave me for my birthday, last month (or at least I THINK it was last month 😜) is bearing fruit! There’s one lemon sprouting, a full blossom, and lots of blossom sprouts. Yep, I know I’m not using the correct horticultural terms. I also know HOPE when I see it.

And that’s enough.
What kind of enough have you experienced or witnessed lately?
