677 – 708 in a year of 2012 wOws!

My “word” for 2012 is wOw!

wOw! is one of those fabulous words that fits positive, negative and neutral situations.  It’s a word we can use when no other will work.   Over this next year of Sundays, I’m going to share some wOw!moments from the previous week.  By December 31, 2012, I’ll have shared 2012wOw! moments.

I hope you’ll have spotted (and maybe even shared) close to that, too.

Here’s what made me say wOw! this week:

677.  my favorite (Sigg) water bottle cracking after it froze;

678.   watching my mom put on make-up on Mother’s Day and feeling seven-years-old again;

679.  how important eating with Mom in the dining room of her Senior Independent Living complex is to her;

680.  the honor of  taking Mom to The Mall (so she can shop for FOUR HOURS!  :));

681.  the 42nd birthday of one of my nephews;

682.  grilled eggplant and onions;

683.  taking care of Mom when she needs me;

684.  seeing Canada Goose goslings:

685.   enjoying the stories of people who simply need to tell them;

686.  the Barefoot Sisters;

687.  watching Blossom and her cousin Tikka play;

688.  realizing I can’t call my sister to talk about American Idol;

689.  watching butterflies at my butterfly bush;

690.  snuggling with Blossom;

691.  remembering that my body has MS in it;

692.  resisting the temptation to try to fix a dear friend’s problems;

693.  that MRIs don’t get any easier;

694.  meeting the seniors at Waccamaw Academy;

695.  Donna Summers;

696.  that Tom and I can work our way all the way through whatever happens;

697.  being present for a young woman who is in the process of changing her life for the better;

698. trampolines;

699.  the compassion and wisdom of friends;

700.  how faith trumps fear;

701.  having a friend who can find the ‘educational component’ of roller coasters;

702.   Grey’s Anatomy;

703. the comfort of homemade turkey pot pie;

704.  laughter and tears with longtime friends;

705.  celebrating a friend’s First-Cancer-Free-Birthday;

706.  sharing LKW with friends;

707.  how sharing sadness can lessen its power;

708.  how sharing joy magnifies its power;

  1. I love reading all your wOws, Lisa; today, I especially loved #696. Go guys! What made me say wOw this week? Being able to change our “new customer welcome letter” at Council Tool to read “fourth- and fifth-generation family members/owners are on the plant floor each and every day.”

  2. Glo, yup – those sassy storms are starting earllllly this year! :0
